TabSettle, Inc. is a US-based software platform that provides QR-code-based, real-time collaborative bill-splitting for full-service restaurants. Diners scan a QR code at the table and pay their portion of the check directly from their phone, without downloading an app.
TabSettle operates two separate SMS programs on two separate phone numbers:
Sent from a dedicated transactional number. Used for:
Transactional SMS is not marketing. You receive these messages because you initiated an action (logging in, paying a check, requesting a receipt). Replying STOP to the transactional number will unsubscribe you from non-essential transactional messages, but core security messages (such as OTP codes you request) will continue.
Sent from a dedicated toll-free marketing number. Used to deliver promotional messages from restaurants you have explicitly subscribed to. Promotional SMS is the subject of the rest of this page.
You are not enrolled in promotional SMS by default. You must affirmatively opt in. See Section 3.
Opt-in occurs at the end of a payment session in the TabSettle web application (pay.tabsettle.com). After you complete payment for your portion of the bill, the restaurant may present an optional offer (for example, a discount on your next visit) in exchange for subscribing to that restaurant's promotional messages.
You can decline the offer by tapping "No thanks, take me to my receipt." Declining does not affect your ability to use TabSettle's payment service. Consent to receive promotional messages is not required to use TabSettle.
The opt-in screen presents the following:

The button remains disabled (grayed out) until the required checkboxes are checked. The user must take an affirmative action (tap the checkbox) to consent. We do not pre-check any consent boxes.

When a diner opts in, TabSettle records:
Consent records are stored as an immutable audit log and retained for at least four years from the date of the last status change, in compliance with TCPA requirements.
After opting in, you will receive promotional messages from the specific restaurant you subscribed to. Messages may include:
All promotional messages identify the sending restaurant by name and include TabSettle as the sending platform. Messages include opt-out instructions.

Message frequency varies by restaurant and promotional cadence. You may receive messages from each restaurant you have subscribed to. If you are subscribed to multiple restaurants, you will receive messages from each of them independently.
You can review your active subscriptions and unsubscribe from individual restaurants at any time at my.tabsettle.com.
Reply STOP or END to any promotional message from the TabSettle marketing number. This will unsubscribe you from all promotional messages from all restaurants on the TabSettle platform.
After you opt out, you will receive one final confirmation message. You will not receive further promotional messages unless you opt back in.
To unsubscribe from one restaurant but remain subscribed to others, visit your TabSettle account dashboard at my.tabsettle.com and manage your subscriptions individually.
Opt-out requests are processed in real time.
Reply HELP to any promotional message to receive support contact information. The HELP auto-response reads:

TabSettle does not charge you to receive these messages. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. Check with your carrier for details.
The TabSettle SMS messaging program is supported on all major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
When you opt in to receive promotional messages from a restaurant, the following information is shared with that restaurant for the purpose of sending those messages:
Mobile information shared at opt-in is used only to deliver promotional messages from the specific restaurant you subscribed to, through TabSettle's sending infrastructure. We do not sell or transfer mobile information to unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes.
